Fibroline Umbilicals
The Fibrolite and Fibroline range of sheared lower pressure hoses are designed
for use in surface dive and bell excursion applications where kink and abrasion
resistance are high priorities and is particularly suited to jacket maintenance
and salvage type operations. Other applications include use in breathing
apparatus for use in gas tank inspections and other hazardous environments. The
main difference between Fibrolite and Fibroline hoses is the maximum working
pressure. Where the working pressure is within the limits of the Fibrolite
range there is a price advantage. Due to the outer core thickness the Fibroline
is seen as more robust than Fibrolite with its thinner outer cover.
Fibroline and Fibroflex range of hoses are both suitable for air diving. They
are both also suitable for Nitrox Diving depending upon the pressure and the
mix of nitrogen and oxygen. A typical mixture of 32% oxygen/ 68% nitrogen
working at 15 BAR is fine. The Fibroflex Umbilical is easier to coil/store and
if the Umbilicals are long this may be a deciding factor on which is more
suitable. Fibroflex is a highly flexible braided high pressure hose for use in
a Main Bell, Wet Bell and Excursion Umbilicals. Fibroflex is designed
specifically to withstand rigours of everyday use in a Hyperbaric Dive System.
This range of hoses is approved by DNV. Services include gas and hot water
supply, gas reclaim and PNEUMO and monitoring hoses. Fibroflex Hoses for Gas
and PNEUMO use have resilient polyurethane liners, reinforced with high
strength fibre braided layers offering pressure capability and abrasion
protection whilst maximising flexibility. Fibroflex Hot Water hoses are
constructed the same as gas hose but have thermoplastic rubber liners rated for
maximum 99°C use.
